UPDF Officers paid a visit to Luwero SS
On Wednesday 29th October 2025, Luwero SS received visitors from Bombo Army barracks on various ranks. These officers included: Colonel Ismael, Colonel Kasinga and Colonel Mutyaba who headed the group.
Colonel Ismael told students to have respect for their parents, teachers and fellow students. He emphasized them to love one another and their country, Uganda.
Colonel Kasinga told students to love their studies because achievement in academics will enable them to lead and defend their country when need arises.
Colonel Mutyaba informed students about the roles of UPDF (Uganda Peoples Defense Forces) which rotates around protecting and defending and keeping security in Uganda. He cautioned students to be vigilant while on holidays and avoid engaging in political activities that can expose them to danger especially during the ongoing campaigns. He told students to take responsibility for their lives by seeing danger and avoiding it before it happens to them. He told them to avoid joining bad peer groups, escaping from school, taking drugs among others.
Colonel Mutyaba also informed students that UPDF officers are human being like them, but their job is to protect peace and security of Uganda. He encouraged students to interact with officers but not to fear them. As officers were planning to leave, they encouraged students to join patriotism activities in their school to learn, to love and protect their mother country willingly. This they expressed through leading the patriotism songs such as “Kibonge kya nini” and others.
